Montserrat is a GOES 8 volcano monitoring site. Soufriere Hills is our current object of interest. Nevis is also being monitored as a baseline for comparison. As these are warm islands in a relatively cool ocean, they will occassionally generate erroneous hotspots. Volcanically generated hotspots on Montserrat can be determined through comparison of the montserrat graph (Soufriere Hills) with the nevis graph (be sure to take in to account the differing scales of the graphs).
